    American Red Cross 2012 Dave Cole Charity Golf Classic

    NOVEC HELPS will be participating and co-sponsoring the American Red Cross 2012 Dave Cole Charity Golf Classic at Stonewall Golf Club, 15601 Turtle Point DR., Gainesville, VA 20155 on Monday, Oct. 1 with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

    No Woman, No Cry 5K Walk and Run

    NOVEC HELPS will have a team participating in the No Woman, No Cry 5k Walk and Run scheduled for Sept. 15 at Freedom High School, 15201 Neabsco Mills Rd., Woodbridge, VA with registration at 8:30 a.m.

    Last year there were more than 300 walkers and raised almost $20,000.  Funds raised support efforts to raise awareness and stop the silence of domestic violence. Help support the work to prevent another person from suffering the same fate as others.

    Successful March for Babies Events

    It was a perfect day for the annual March of Dimes, March for Babies fundraising walk on Sunday, April 29 in Manassas, Va.

    Manley Garber was recoginzied at the walk for his more than 20 years of participating in the event and being the top fundraiser over the years.  He was joined this year with many family members including a number of great grandchildren and family members who came up from the Shenandoah area of Virginia. 

    The NOVEC HELPS team raised approximately $18,000 for this event.  Team Captain, Carol Cancelmi said, "She was proud of the HELPS team for all their support.  This is a worthy charity to help in the research for healthier babies."

    On Sat., April 21, the HELPS team participated in the Fauquier March for Babies that took place at Airlie, Warrenton, Va.  Captain, Ann Phares said, "It was a good day for a walk, while helping to raise funds for healtheir babies."

    Fauquier County March for Babies

    NOVEC HELPS is sponsoring and participating in the Fauquier County March of Dimes, March for Babies event scheduled for Sat., April 21 at Airlie Park, Warrenton, VA. Registration begins at 1 p.m. with the walk starting at 2 p.m.

    NOVEC HELPS will have a team participating in the Multiple Sclerosis Walk on Sat., April 28 at the James Monroe High School, Fredericksburg, Va.  Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the walk starting at 10 a.m.

    NOVEC HELPS Particpated in the SERVE Bowlathon

    NOVEC HELPS sponsored and had two teams participating in the annual Strike for SERVE Bowl-A-Thon.  Strike for SERVE brings 300 people together from throughout the community to raise funds and awareness for the SERVE Campus of the Northern Virginia Family Service. 

    Proceeds support the SERVE campus of NVFS, which is dedicated to helping individuals and families find new paths to self-reliance and brighter futures.

    The event took place on March 10 and raaised more than $46,000. Karen Horowitz thanked everyone for their amazing support of their 21st annual Strikes for SERVE bowlathon. This was their best year ever.     NOVEC HELPS Collecting New Unwrapped Toys for the Marine Corp Toys for Tots

    NOVEC HELPS is participating in the Marine Corp Reserve Toys for Tots Drive beginning Monday, Nov. 21.  Boxes will be located at the Minnnieville Office, 14500 Minnieville Rd., Woodbridge; Lomond Business Center, 10323 Lomond Dr., Manassas; and the Gainesville Technical Center, 5399 Wellington Brtanch Dr., Gainesville. 

    You may drop your new unwrapped toys at these locations during normal business hours Monday through Friday, except Holidays until Thursday, December 15.

    NOVEC HELPS Participating in Operation Turkey

    NOVEC HELPS is participating in Operation Turkey.  Nov. 3 through Nov. 15, collection of non-perishable food items will begin to provide a Thanksgiving meal to those less fortunate in our community.  The food will be donated to SERVE, Inc., Manassas, and ACTS, Dumfries, Va.  Drop off boxes will be located in the NOVEC offices located at 10323 Lomond Drive, Manassas; 5399 Wellington Branch Dr., Gainesville; and 14500 Minnieville Rd., Woodbridge, Va. 

    When you are at the grocery store consider picking up an extra can of vegetables, a box of instant potatoes, Bisquick, muffin mix, canned gravy, a box of stuffing, canned pumkin, evaporated milk, or pie crust mix and filling, and drop it off at one of the listed NOVEC offices between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.
